Role of Parent/Families

The role of parents and families are vitally important for the student, teachers, administrators, and the school as a whole. Family structures experienced by middle school students today are far different from what was considered "normal" during much of the last century. Family units today are consisted of: two biological parents, one biological parent, one biological parent and one stepparent, one stepparent, grandparents, aunts and uncles, adult siblings, foster families, or other students in a group home.

Let's uplift our students
Parent Support:
1. Arrive to school on-time: Students that arrive to school early, and have a good breakfast tend to perform better in school.
2. Help with homework - parents can support their student with homework by communicating and showing interest in what they are studying and learning.
3. Get involved with school activities, meetings, volunteering, talk to administrators and staff, be a friendly face in your child's school.
4. Encourage your students to get involved in clubs, sports, band, chorus, and become a student body family.
5. Communication is vitally important, expressions of love is needed during this time even though the student may show signs of independence.
